"You took the concept of what we wanted about New Zealand and made it real" New Zealand and Cook Islands Trip-of-a-Lifetime

"It was an amazing difference between experiencing the Maori Culture on Rarotonga (Cook Islands) and the Maori village in Rotorua. We really liked the Cooks. The resort staff was fabulous as well the breakfast on the beach. We loved your suggestion to visit the church on the first day we arrived. The atmosphere of the night market was neat. We loved the village night and the dancing and especially the cultural tour on the jeep. The driver was full of information! The snorkeling was great!

The resort in Queenstown was Charles' favorite as it allowed a lot of space for our family and we loved taking the gondola. It was a neat touch. The hotel in Wellington was in a perfect location…

All the Lord of the Rings ours in Queenstown were great. The timing to be in Hobbiton was perfect as well because there were not a lot of tourists and picture taking was easy. Wedda Studios were a hit with the kids but the sheep at the Agrodome were really the Rock Stars. They loved those sheep!

We loved not having to worry about tipping and having free washing machines and laundry detergent wherever we went! Air New Zealand was really a neat airline to fly with, too.

You took the concept of what we wanted about New Zealand and made it real. We could not have done it any better and we really appreciate the relationship with you and long-term willingness to work with us on this trip!

"…it was awesome" Fall self-drive through Germany

Thank you! All went well. Everything that Tom set up worked just as he said it would. All the accommodations were in great locations, vouchers, instructions, transports all worked perfectly. It was a lot of driving and hard to find our way around once we got to a town, but once I realized that I didn't have to hit every single one of Tom's suggestions, it went more smoothly. By the time we would get ready, eat breakfast and head out, it was 9 or 10 and then we would have a couple hour drive (and there was a lot of construction we ran into), but we got to see all the amazing main things that we wanted to see and it was awesome. We ended up not zipling because it was just too far out of the way and we had ziplined before so decided to scratch that. The Rhine River cruise would have been better if the boat wasn't always running late because by the time we would get to the next location, we really didn't have time to get out and see much. All these types things are nobody's fault, just things that happened. Germany is so clean and the people so nice. We loved it! The food and wine were great too! The weather was between 40 and 60, which would have been great, but it rained almost every day. That didn't stop us, we kept plugging along. Of course I will refer others to you and use you again and Tom gave us soo many good recommendations and tips. Thanks to all! Tell your co-worker that we did go to the torture museum and really liked it too.

"…better weather than predicted for the entire time and not a single hitch, glitch, or slowdown." Cook Islands and New Zealand

Good morning Will and Melodye—

I'm sorry to be so late getting back with you. After dealing with a pile of laundry, I jumped right into a project that's due tomorrow! And we have a big book project beginning tomorrow, too. I'm still having difficulty regulating my sleeping.

I must tell you the big birthday trip to Cook Is. and New Zealand was terrific! We were so fortunate—we had better weather than predicted for the entire time and not a single hitch, glitch, or slowdown.

I attribute that to you! Well, maybe not so much the weather, but all the rest of the arrangements. The outbound trip was perfect—you could tell, Will, we were spoiled quickly.

Probably the worst part was the return flight (United—full plane but safe trip) and entry into the U.S. @ SFO. The Global Entry kiosks worked fine—through in less than 10 minutes. It was a little messy picking up our bags to go through Customs and Immigration and then reload for DFW flight—and people were snippy and snappy. Even so, nothing went wrong.

But for 2 weeks on the road—things were just great. Will, the properties were perfectly placed and you managed really nice rooms. The resort on Cook Islands was lovely. I loved it there! I'd hop to the Cooks anytime. David was more comfortable in Queenstown—he hates heat, but he loves snorkeling and diving. We snorkeled even on our first afternoon but mostly just hung around in hammocks on the beach (ahhh).

And when we walked into the room in Auckland—the view of the harbor was stunning! Thanks for placement on 12th floor. I mentioned to the customer rep (who checked us in and was so sweet throughout our stay) how comfy was the bed after each packed day. She told me that floors 12 and above had been newly redone with new, super beds—much appreciated! We moved around our part of Auckland pretty well—downtown near the University—beautiful park nearby. We walked over to Parnell at our Kiwi friend's suggestion (whew! Lots of hills…) and had a drink when we arrived. We spent next day on Waiheke.

The hotel in Queenstown was perfectly located on the lake and comfy after each day. And we packed it in—two hikes, incl. part of Routeburn Track—and Doubtful Sound. Melodye, that was a gorgeous event. And a lovely trip—which turned out to be located next to what fast became our favorite pub. The tour guide Brian was great—good driver and knew when to talk and when to chill. The ships were lovely, comfy, and the Sound itself is incredible. We didn't see many critters—an albatross followed us for a while. But it was still gorgeous and I loved the quite moment when the captain turned off the engines. Beautiful!

I've well and fully joined the league of fans of New Zealand—don't know why I've waited so long. I'm ready to go again. And somewhere else.

I've nothing but thanks and shall tell my traveling friends about you both. And till the next trip when I call you,

All my best,
Joyce

"We had some wonderful trips." Australian Outback and Sydney

Hello Melodye,

We are indeed home. We were jet lagged and disoriented for the last couple of days but we are getting caught up. We had a great time but a busy time. We had some wonderful trips. Some comments about the trips we chose:

The camping we did at Ayers and Kings Canyon was fun but also a good workout. The guide we had was a wonderful and helpful guy that kept us all entertained. After pickup at the hotel we were driven straight to Kata Juta for a little hiking. We were then taken to a sunset viewing of Ayers with snacks and drinks. Our guide was able to get us a good viewing location despite the large number of busses at the view site. We were then taken to a campground. The campground is actually near the hotel locations and does not have a night view of Ayers. The tents we had were more like cabins. They had cots with blankets and pillows and electricity. Some people elected to sleep in tents without cots or electricity or outdoors. They needed to bring pillow. The showers and restrooms were nearby and decent. The food was served to the group and was fairly good for camp food. The next morning was a pre-dawn wakeup and drive to Ayers. We watched to sun rise as we did a self guided walk around the base. This can be a long walk for some but C and I were close to the oldest in the group. We managed. After the long walk there was a "cultural tour" let by a local indigenous.

We then were taken to Kings Canyon. The campgrounds there were very much like the one at Ayers. We did have an afternoon swim at a pool on the site. People may want to bring a swimsuit and towel. The campgrounds were also not near Kings Canyon but it was a nice spot. The next morning we had a pre-dawn trip to the canyon for a guided hike by our trip guide. They hike is very much uphill but very much worth the effort. It was beautiful. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the geography and biology of the canyon.

The trip to Alice included a few stops for pictures of other locations and a trip to the camel ranch. When we reached Alice Springs our guide arranged for everyone on the trip to meet at a local pub. By then we knew the rest of the group and we had all become friends. The next day we toured and shopped in Alice while waiting our trips.

Our trip to Cairns was fine and the hotel was good. The Mike Ball dive charter was top notch. After paper work at the office they took our luggage and transported us to the airport for a private charter in a small plane to Lizard Island. The flight was very scenic. We did not spend time at the island. They put us onto small boats to bring us out to the dive boat.

The boat was much better than I expected and the food was much better than I expected on a dive boat. The staff did everything to make sure we had a great time and were very professional. The service was excellent. We were able to dive up to 12 times in the three days on board but we were too tired for a couple of the dives. C. and I were close to being the least experienced divers on board. The very international group consisted of very experienced divers for the most part. However, the staff were very good about helping us all and were ready to take care of any situation. The dives were spectacular. The hire gear is very good. We were very pleased with the food and the wine with dinner. The staff kept the guests very entertained. The focus of the divers was photography and they had excellent instruction and gear on board for that.

Brisbane.. The night life and food scene was very active. The ferry ride from one and of the city to another was a great trip to see the city and get to a food truck park.

Our trip to Sydney was easy and the location of the hotel on the Rocks was great. The hotel could use a little spruce up but our balcony had a view of the bridge and opera house. C and I explored that area our first day and made a trip across the harbor to a recommended restaurant. The next day was a fantastic trip on the James Craig that took up the whole day and it was excellent. We had drinks with the crew later. That evening we experienced Halloween on the Rocks.

So as you see we were very tired when we got home.

Cheers
Ed

"Trip went great" Australian Outback , Great Barrier Reef and more

"The trip was fabulous!!! Thanks sooo much for your extra effort."

Melodye,

I left a message on your office phone. The trip was fabulous!!! Loved the accommodations , tours , meals, and out tour guide. S and I didn't do Thursday tours before flying to Sydney but Harey took us to airport. Especially loved Lizard Island, Whitehaven Beach and snorkeling in Port Douglas.…it was Awesome. Thanks sooo much for your extra effort. I have 2 friends that have already mentioned they are interested so I will pass on your name. Thanks for everything!

Janice

I know everyone will be leaving Australia feeling like we had an amazing adventure.

We enjoyed our guide so much and the red center was quite an adventure. That kings canyon rim hike does give us some serious bragging rights. We arrived worn out to Sydney but are trying not to miss a thing. The hotel in Sydney is perfect! I know everyone will be leaving Australia feeling like we had an amazing adventure.

"I have now had my dream vacation. Thanks for helping pull this all together and enjoy your trip!"

Hi Melodye,

We had a wonderful time! Loved all the ports except Split and Toulon. They probably would have been better if the weather wasn't raining, drizzly, etc. Or if we had chosen an excursion instead of the included. Actually we were supposed to do a Sail and swim in Toulon, but weather did not cooperate. The ship was beautiful, the staff always friendly.

There is so much to see in Rome. You can't do it justice in that short of time. I guess we will just have to go back!

I loved Barcelona! Was not anything that I had expected. The hotel was adequate, their breakfast buffet excellent. The people helping us we very friendly and knowledgeable concerning the city, tours, etc.

I have now had my dream vacation.

Thanks for helping pull this all together and enjoy your trip!

"Thanks for helping us plan this adventure"

Hi Melodye,

We are back and had a great time on our trip. Everything worked out well. Lilianfels was able to put us in an adjoining suite which worked out well for the baby. We really liked Noosa and would like to have spent more time there. Everywhere else our timing was perfect. I did drop you a postcard on the day we left.

We did get to check in early and the Shangri La was fabulous. I would definitely stay there again. Our rental on Hamilton was beautiful and worked out great.

Thanks for helping us plan this adventure. It was a great time with our kids and Australia was lovely!!

"I know I had to come to the Pro's!"

Good Morning Ladies,

Hope all is well!!! I can't believe it's already been 6 months!!! J and I are doing GREAT and ready to start planning our 1 year anniversary trip! We would like to go to Breckenridge Colorado. I hear that Peak 9 and Main street is the place to be!!

I have been looking for hotels online but I'm not having much luck. Mostly just seeing more condos and not hotels. We were thinking about staying 4 nights… Do you have any recommendations? Yall did such an amazing job with our last trip, I know I had to come to the Pro's!

"First of all, we must say "THANK YOU" for getting us upgraded to a Luxury Villa at Sugar Beach!! "

Melodye & Rebecca - thank you for the email. St. Lucia was amazing!!! Thank you for whatever advice and tips you gave Jose. We really enjoyed both the resorts and I'm really glad that we split time between them. In just a few words:

First of all, we must say "THANK YOU" for getting us upgraded to a Luxury Villa at Sugar Beach!! That was such a treat!! It was just perfect! Sugar Beach is so beautiful, quiet and secluded. We had an up-close and personal view of the Petit Piton from our villa. We enjoyed lounging around at the pool, beach and our private plunge pool, and we also got massages at the Rain Forest Spa. That place is unlike any other spa I've been to. You really are in the rain forest and it's so relaxing.

Sandals Grande was fantastic, too! After a few days of R&R, it was nice to be at a place a little more lively and active. Our room looked over the pool and the beach and out to the Caribbean Sea. We did a lovely sunset cruise our first night there and a rum tour a few days later. Somehow we had access to the Club Sandals (was that you, too? :) which just spoiled us even more. That really made it feel even more special, knowing we had "VIP" access. We've never stayed at a Sandals before, but they really know what they're doing.

Are you free to chat around 7pm Wednesday? Let us know.

Thanks!
Karen

"I appreciate all your help in planning this trip. It was so much fun"

Melodye,

We had a fantastic time! We didn't want to come home. The weather was perfect the whole time we were there. I liked the Rendezvous Hotel. It was in a great location and we had a great view of the harbor. The only downside was that when a cruise ship was in port, we couldn't see the Opera House. The excursions were all good. I enjoyed Whitehaven beach a lot. It was gorgeous. We had a lot of fun at Mardi Gras. There were so many people there!

I appreciate all your help in planning this trip. It was so much fun,

Brant

"…the trip was just perfect!" Australia

Hi Melodye,

Just want to thank you for putting together such an amazing trip for us. We had such a great time and are so grateful to you for the way everything worked out. Other than the weather at times, the trip was just perfect!

just perfect!

Hope to see you again!

Betsy

"We are very happy with what you put together."

Dear Melodye,

Would be glad to talk, and it was a great trip. John and I can probably come up with one or two constructive comments, but it's minor stuff (right now I can't even remember!). We are very happy with what you put together.

Give me a few days to get my footing.
Sincerely,
Kin

"I know you work extremely hard behind the scenes, ensuring we get the best possible service for the price we pay."

Hi Melodye,

Apologies, for not contacting you before now, to say, "a very big thank you for planning our Mexico experience." I have managed to catch a cold since returning home, it may have something to do with the change in temperature, so I have not been firing on all cylinders.

As in previous years we were delighted with the tours, all the arrangements dove-tailed into one, the guides were punctual and courteous.

We loved the Copper Canyon and the Colonial cities especially St Miguel, Allende, although the archaeological sites began to merge into one after a week we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. I enjoyed the relaxation of staying at the beach resort at the end as we were on the move for over 20 days.

I know you work extremely hard behind the scenes, ensuring we get the best possible service for the price we pay. We are always confident that you will plan tours appropriately to accommodate our needs and interests and the Mexico experience, matched our expectation, leaving us with wonderful memories.

In our last telephone conversation you asked, "what is our next dream destination?"

The answer isWe would love to do some walking in Patagonia and an Antarctic cruise.

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Bernard sends his love and a very big thank you, everything went according to plan.

Love Maria

"unique and provided experiences and insightsthat we would not have had otherwise"

Melodye,

I've decided there is not a good time of the year for me to be traveling abroad for more than 3 weeks! With that being said, our trip was fun, fabulous and adventurous! Each of the three parts were unique and provided experiences and insights that we would not have had otherwise.Terry is now an "official" Italian driver; a story too long for email. Let's just confirm that he has driven the Amalifi peninsulaon the weekend and auto and passengers and other are well.

Let's just confirm that he has driven the Amalifi peninsulaon the weekend and auto and passengers and other are well.

Our guide for the Louvre was just perfect for us. Cerise has art history degrees, undergraduate and masters. Not only did she relate Louvre history but also that of other times and the relevance of the art works of that period. The 3 hours we spent with her was a good investment before we spent 3 more hours on our own.

We were also pleased with our private driver who got us to Orly airport. I felt very smug that I'd included that expense since the Paris taxi drivers went on strike while we were in Paris. We would have had a much more difficult time getting to the airport had we not had the Private car.

All in all we had a great trip and truly appreciate your assistance (and redirection for air transport), especially since most was "last minute." THANK YOU!

linda

"I love being able to refer people to you"

Hi, Melodye,

You are so welcome! I love being able to refer people to you because based on our wonderful experience, I know you'll do a great job for them!

Marty & Tara & the kids really had a great trip—they have some fabulous pics to prove it! That may have to be our next destination!

Donnie & I are heading to Jerusalem for two weeks this June with a group from our church so that's our big trip this year. I wish I had an unlimited travel budget!

Take care!

Blessings-
Paula

"it was the trip of a lifetime!" Australia and New Zealand

Melodye,

I should have taken a few days off for recovery from our travels but instead I went right back in the fire! Lol! I've been digging out ever since I returned. I assure you we had an awesome time! I will give you a call early next week or send you feedback as soon as possible! Thanks again for all you did to make our trip special, it was the trip of a lifetime! I wish we were still there, truly! Crystal

"each stay/adventure that you arranged was more than anticipated/expected"

Melodye,

I do want to give you feedback with specifics. This week and next I'm dealing with things left undone while gone.

Overall, we were thrilled with the entire experience; even felt that each stay/adventure that you arranged was more than anticipated/expected. Though we were disappointed to miss sunset, we begrudge no semi-arid location the benefit of rain AND that rain gave us the opportunity to see waterfalls on Uluru!

I will admit that recovering from jet-lag has been longer than we anticipated. being 17 hours "off" for 28 days has extended our adjustment period at home. I've made better progress than T..

I'll get back to you soon.
Linda
