Let's Travel Together was founded in 1999 by M. Melodye Martinelli in Houston, Texas. Prior to starting the business, Melodye had spent 28 years in the corporate telecommunications industry. At age 45, she decided to sell her home in New Jersey, store her belongings and set out on a quest to "see the world" as a solo traveler, which lasted for seven years. She quickly discovered that her world travels (now expanded to 80 countries) were an opportunity for self discovery and an education that far exceeded her imagination. Her life was full of "Unique Discoveries and Memorable Experiences©", which became the mission statement for Let's Travel Together. Her goal in starting the agency was to combine both her business and world travel experience into a company that would help all clients, including solo travelers, expand their own personal horizons, live their travel dreams and discover foreign lands and cultures.

Billy Martin, who has traveled much of the world with his military contract training business, joined Melodye in 2004 as a business partner. They had discovered during their three year personal relationship that they shared the same interest and philosophy about travel, culture, history and world politics. Billy is also a member of the West Point Society of Greater Houston. Melodye and Billy have passionately continued to live their world travel quest for years, while helping their clients plan and live their own travel dreams. They enjoy nature, soft adventure and eco-oriented travel, including extensive experience in the South Pacific, African Safaris, the study of ancient civilizations, local culture, the arts and fine local cuisine. What they enjoy most about their travels is the memory of meeting the local people and having the opportunity to interact with them on a personal level.
